Rules at Shooting Range

Rifle-calibre firearms and snail-firing shotguns can only be fired on tracks 1 to 6. (subject to availability) Never move in front of the firing line or firing booths. All persons using the shooting ranges must sign a waiver and read the safety rules of the shooting range. Always keep firearms handy when you are at the shooting range. A valid Illinois FOID card or photo ID outside the state government is required to rent firearms and use the shooting ranges. If a truce is declared, discharge your firearm with the bottle open or push it back and back from the firing position. Concealed firearms must always be hidden during the stay in the store.

Only on the shooting range and in a firing range can the hidden firearm be unloaded if it is to be fired. Eye and hearing protection is mandatory before entering the range. Never use alcohol or drugs before or during filming. In July 2017, lawmakers approved nationwide coverage rules to ensure safety and consistency across government areas. These rules are also summarized on signs attached to MNR ranges. Please read and understand the following rules and check the specific areas at that particular location. It is forbidden to smoke, eat or drink on the shooting range. The FWC operates several ranges throughout the state. If a traffic jam or other malfunction occurs and you are unable to resolve the issue, leave the firearm on the firing bench and ask the range safety officer for assistance. Shooting Sports reserves the right to refuse to use the shooting range or service to any person for any reason. No person under the age of 18 is allowed to enter the shooting ranges without parents or guardians. All magazines must be unloaded before entering the firing range. This serves to protect against the use of unauthorized and dangerous munitions. Pregnant women are not allowed on shooting ranges. All individuals using the ranges must successfully view the shooting safety video/briefing once a year. This includes both long guns and pistol guns. Children must be at least 10 years old to shoot firearms. Only sheathed, semi-coated or coated projectiles are allowed.

No solid lead. All medium-fire ammunition must be sheathed, with the exception of 22-gauge rim screws or percussion screws. Always keep guns pointed in a safe direction. Treat all firearms as if they were loaded. No tracers, armour-piercing ammunition, steel core ammunition, steel or aluminum ammunition are allowed. Make sure you are using the right ammo in your firearm. Children under the age of 14 must be assisted by a parent or range security guard at all times. Do not move loaded firearms from one booth to another. Customers firing medium firearms must purchase ammunition from C.I. Shooting Sports to protect against burning tracer ammunition in the rubber safety net.
